The right most big painting is my real at home project that I spent a long time on(~24 combined hours). The other four are just me having fun with my freetime over the past few weekends.

*The chin of the right mask painting is a little bit different now because I fixed it but I don't really want to take a new picture because I am lazy.

.so i didn't get much done today, but its ok, I am still plowing along. It is just taking longer than expected to paint the tree and lighten the colors enough. I finished the mushrooms and i am happy about that.

I don't really have much to say, I think that the painting is going well. The trees are looking good. I am happy with my progress so far. Things are going well

So i sketched out the plan, and I am happy with the way it is looking. I definitely think that I am meeting my goals: two figures and the inclusion of compositional space. I am looking forward to painting antlers again because I remember liking painting them when I did the cover of my sketchbook. I am worried about whether or not I am going to finish this because doing the background on my at home piece took around 14 hours, but this is only half the size so hopefully it will work out better. Also this time I am going to learn from my mistakes and work from the back forward, because it was annoying painting the very dark parts around her head and the butterfly and all of the mushrooms.

So i worked on this for another 7 hours today, albeit a very distracted 7 hours, some of which waiting for large expanse of thick paint to dry. I am happy with it so far, but I think I am going to touch up some of the moss and the bottom two leftmost mushrooms. I also might change the background part right behind the woman's head and behind the butterfly, but Idk yet. Also I might go back in an mess with the stump a bit because it feels awkward like there is something wrong with it and i might make her but smaller because it looks too big right now.

I am very happy with how much I have done at this point. It is really fun painting mushrooms and I like that I have a better more clear plan for the forest than I did in my in class project because this is turning out a lot better than that so far. So far I have spent around 8:30 hours on this project from brainstorming to finishing painting the last mushroom in the rightmost picture. I think I am going to spend a good portion of the day/night working on this tomorrow to combat election anxiety which has been plaguing for the past week, but has progressively been getting worse. I hope to have all of the background done by the end of tomorrow so that I can focus my energies into the figure. Also I'm still not entirely sure how I am going to resolve the space directly behind her head that currently does not have any trees in it. I might just paint it black/a dark color and then glaze on some trees or do something so that it doesn't look too stupid.
