So yesterday i had the photo shoot for one of my at home pieces. I am doing an Art Assignment called "conjure your own studio" I think. So i brought my art stuff into the woods behind my house. I am going to do this as a pen and ink drawing I think. I recently got a jar of black ink from a friend, so I think I might include some washes, especially as a basis for the background because i think its cool. I'm not sure what type of paper I am going to use, either watercolor paper for if I actually want to do a wash, or just paper from a sketchbook that i have that I usually use for my ink work. Overall i am excited for this painting. This week i did more detailed planning for my piece(including making a pinterest board to get some vibe inspirations and some reference photos for things that i can't take myself). Then I gridded my painting(16"x20") and painted it with a vermillion coat to establish a nice base. I am probably going to work on this over the weekend, so will hit you w/some new updates next week. It is looking good right now. i think im gonna get rid of the crown thing cuz it was awkward when I drew it on idk. also im still working with the positioning of the moth because all of the pictures i can find of Death's Head Moths are just straight on of their back, which is really awkward for my composition. I will figure it out eventually though. Idk how I am going to format so im not putting it in my gallery yet.
