I am iffy about the progress that I have made today. I really am liking how the arm is turning out, but I don't like the coloring of the leg at all. It is too green. I am having the same problem as last class, where the brown paints I am mixing are turning a green color. I think it is something with the yellow paint because I only used it in the cabinet and the person, so i'm just going to avoid the use of yellow paint form now on. I am pretty happy how it is starting to turn out once I abandoned the yellow, so i am excited to continue painting.

Although, I was unable to actually attend the Lunchtime Lecture due to the National English Honor Society Inductions, I watched the recording on youtube, and I was very intrigued by these eggs. Previously I had heard of these eggs and even seen them in person at the VMFA, but I had no idea how valuable they are both in monetary value, as well as in historical and narrative value. Their story is so rich and interesting. I loved learning about the man who bought it at a flea market not understanding what it was nor its value, and then when he found out and the inspector dude came and fainted because the egg was thought to be lost. I thought that story was very interesting and I'm surprised the owner of it from the flea market didn't google it to see if it had actual value. I also thought it was hilarious that the Seattle Museum of Fine arts missed out on this wonderful collection due to not responding to the letter that the donor sent. I bet they are very frustrated in missing out on such a wonderful opportunity. I don't think I would ever incorporate any of this into my art work, however. It is simply too excessive and elaborate and too sculptural for my tastes, but I am content to view admirably from afar.

I think I am basically finished with the cabinet at this point.  I am pretty happy with them. I think they kinda have a grundy feel to them, which I really like. I think I am going to re-visit the mirror once I have finished the person so that I can actually start the person, and still have a finished mirror. I am not going to finish this in time and I am ok with that. Next class I am going to start working on the person. I am really looking forward to it because I miss painting people rather than just painting bathroom things.

So this week I worked more on the background. I finished the toilet and began working on the cabinets. I am happy with how it is turning out. I am kind of struggling with the opacity of the paint and I had to go over the brown of the cabinets multiple times in order for it to be opaque enough. Next time I might try and use the Golden Acrylic paints instead of the shitty bottles of paint. Although I do like working with them to make something beautiful out of such shit paint.

I didn't do very much today. I tried to make the tiles straighter and I worked on the towel above her head.  I also intensified some shadows. I am currently working on the section between the toilet and the cabinet, and it is kinda challenging because I have to re-mix the color for the walls. I am apprehensive about starting both the toilet and the cabinets because they have lots of value changes and are overall very complex. I am starting to worry about time because we only have like 4 more class periods to work on this and I have not yet started the body, but I will take it home over a weekend to work on it.

Today I made some progress on the floor. It was really fun, but I struggled with making enough paint to cover all of the areas I wanted and then matching the color again when I ran out. It was very challenging, but it was fun. The edges aren't as clean as I would have liked, but in some ways I am enjoying the looseness of it. It is just the right amount of chaotic for my mind to enjoy it. I'm not sure if I am going to clean it up entirely because there is some texture in the tiles already, but I am going to make the tiles straighter on the right side. I still need to get some pictures to figure out how the toilet connects to the ground and some better images of feet because that part of the picture was cut off in the photo I originally found.

Today I got started painting the background. It was fun, painting things other than people for once. I am really happy with the way that the bottom wall trim thing turned out, but not with the mirror. I don't think it looks really like a mirror and capturing the perspective is quite challenging. Same with the lighting. Next class I plan to start working on the floor and maybe the cabinets. This is a fun process.

So today I got a pretty good start on my painting, I drew the figure and the majority of the background. This time I want to try and focus more energy on the background, so I am going to be doing it first. But I am worried that I wont have time to finish it by the first critique, so I am going to try and make it a in-process critique. I need to figure out how to do the hair, toilet, and foot, so I am going to get more pictures for reference
